Ember Automation: Always fire
Patch 1.7.3: the second mark on the ability button
Combatsince 1.7.3
What it is
“Always fire” for Ember Automation (thanks, Holyjester). Berserker Ember, Eagle Eye and Ember Barrier get a second mark in the automation: when it is on, the ability also fires with the killing blow and carries into the next foe. The default stays as before.
When the automation fires
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Always fire off (default) | Only after a hit the foe survives. |
| Always fire on | The automation also fires with the killing blow. |
Even with “Always fire” at most one ability fires per hit, as usual; its effect carries into the next foe.
Which abilities have the switch
| Ability | Kind | Combat style | from level | Effect (in-game tooltip) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Channel | Melee | 30 | Channel 7.5s · Attack speed ×2.2, costs 4 Ember/s. 12s. | |
| Buff | Ranged | 18 | 15 Ember · +30% Crit Chance for 11s (20s cooldown). | |
| Buff | Calling | 18 | 28 Ember · −50% Damage Taken for 6s. 16s. |
Damage abilities do not have the switch: with the killing blow they would hit a foe that is already falling.
Where the switch sits
Channel and buff abilities fire with “Always fire” (mark at the bottom right of the button) with the killing blow too.
The status line of Ember Automation names the abilities set to “Always fire”.
