What it is
He has been mended so often that hardly any of the first him is left. His button eyes glow warm, like a promise someone meant to keep.
Thanks from the Ash. An old box waits for every player: inside is the Patchwork Bear , a companion for all (existing players get him on their next load, new players at the start). He sets down a parcel of gold and provisions every 45 minutes, makes death cheaper and prevents the lethal hit once a day (“Last Stitch”, in the passive slot every 2 days; not in the tower, against titans, on the Ashen Path or in dungeon boss fights); he does not count toward the menagerie goal, and there is the title “The Thousandth Spark”. The old box
Whoever loads the game after Hotfix 1.7.2.1 gets an old box once, with a thank-you message and a short opening scene (new players after the tutorial). The Patchwork Bear sits inside. There is no deadline, nobody misses him, and he never drops at random.

A gift, not a goal
The Patchwork Bear does not count toward the goal of the Menagerie: “Menagerie complete” and “Beastmaster” do not get harder for anyone because of him. There is also the title “The Thousandth Spark”, in the game only.
