Melee mastery
Patch 1.7.3: what you earn in melee above level 100 stays
What it is
Melee mastery (thanks, Holyjester). What you earn in melee above level 100 fills a visible bar. Each rank gives +0.25% max HP and +0.25% armour, at most 20 ranks. It stays after the Ashfall.
Mastery visible after the Ashfall. The bonuses keep working, and the bar now shows in Combat Stats below level 100 as well.
Ranks and bonuses
Each rank costs 80,000,000 melee experience above level 100; there are no more than 20 ranks.
| Rank | Experience above level 100 | Max HP | Armour |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 80,000,000 | +0.25% | +0.25% |
| 5 | 400,000,000 | +1.25% | +1.25% |
| 10 | 800,000,000 | +2.5% | +2.5% |
| 15 | 1,200,000,000 | +3.75% | +3.75% |
| 20 | 1,600,000,000 | +5% | +5% |
Where the bonuses apply
The bonuses sit inside max HP and armour themselves: combat, Combat Stats and the comparison all use the same number. The armour bonus applies to the armour of the gear you wear.
When the mastery rises, the journal says so, for example: “Melee mastery: rank 1 — +0.25% max HP, +0.25% armour.”
After the Ashfall
The mastery stays after the Ashfall, with all ranks and bonuses; since Build 837 the bar also shows in Combat Stats below level 100.
If you had already earned melee experience above level 100 before 1.7.3, that surplus counts once when you first load. Nothing is lost, nothing is taken away.
